DOT SHOT is a new, innovative drink made from water-soluble curcumin from turmeric oleoresin with a refreshing taste of lime. DOT SHOT contains natural substances.
It has long been known that curcumin is an antioxidant and a powerful anti-inflammatory. The substance also has other beneficial properties, e.g. in liver, gastrointestinal diseases and infections. To further enhance the effect, curcumin has now been made available in a beverage made with water-soluble curcumin: DOT SHOT (70 ml).
DOT SHOT offers up to 39 times better absorption in the body compared to turmeric extract in tablet or capsule form, and the improved absorption is also converted into enhanced effect.
Turmeric contains curcuminoids, a group of substances that i.a. gives the turmeric its strong yellow color.
The main curcuminoid, which is also the most studied, is curcumin - the substance that gives turmeric its healing properties.
Curcumin is extracted from turmeric oleoresin.
Curcumin from turmeric has been considered a powerful herbal remedy in India and China for about 5,000 years, and is especially appreciated for its
anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Curcumin is an important medicine in the traditional Indian medicine Ayurveda.
It is believed that turmeric was introduced in Europe by Marco Polo, as a less expensive alternative to saffron.

Several important studies have been done on turmeric and its effects, and we summarize the results below:
Anti-inflammatory: Orally administered curcumin has been shown to be as effective as cortisone and ibuprofen in the treatment of inflammation.
Liver protection: The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of curcumin help strengthen liver protection.
Cardiovascular: Turmeric has a protective effect on the heart and blood vessels, i.a. by reducing cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Infections: Curcumin inhibits the growth of a variety of viruses, bacteria and parasites. Also helps with fungal infections.
Gastrointestinal: Turmeric / curcumin anti-inflammatory effect helps in several different gastrointestinal diseases.
Curcumin has low oral bioavailability, which means that the body can only absorb a very small part of the curcumin you swallow.
Better bioavailability thus means more effective curcumin products.
DOT SHOT is a new, innovative drink based on water-soluble curcumin with faster and up to 39 times better absorption than other traditional turmeric extracts in tablet or capsule form on the market. The improved uptake is also translated into enhanced effect.
Oxidative stress is the term for a condition in which there are so many reactive oxygen radicals in the body that it does not have time to break down the reaction intermediates or repair the damage caused by the radicals. Oxidative stress is believed to be an important contributing factor to many diseases, e.g. neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer's) and cardiovascular disease.
The antioxidant effects of curcumin help protect the body against oxidative stress.
The prooxidant or antioxidant properties of curcumin depend on the concentration of the substance. This means that the increased curcumin uptake that Dot Shot offers has a real effect on the antioxidant activity.

Alcohol-related liver damage is the term for an injury to the liver that can develop into a variety of ailments, e.g. fatty liver, hepatitis, hepatic necrosis (alcoholic hepatitis), drug side effects or cirrhosis (alcoholic cirrhosis). Many of the toxic effects of ethanol have been linked to its metabolism. Oxidation of ethanol generates toxic by-products, e.g. acetaldehyde and reactive oxygen radicals, which can cause oxidative stress and thus cell death and cell damage.
Dot Shots' antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties strengthen liver protection. A clinical study showed that Dot Shot reduces acetaldehyde levels in the body, thus counteracting the negative effects of alcohol consumption.
Curcuma longa (turmeric) has long been used as an anti-inflammatory herbal remedy in Ayurvedic medicine. Orally administered curcumin has been shown to be as effective as cortisone and ibuprofen in the treatment of inflammation. These anti-inflammatory properties can be attributed to the curcumin's ability to inhibit both biosynthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins from arachidonic acid and the function of neutrophils in inflammation, ie act both pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory when inflammation has occurred.
A published clinical study on chronic joint pain with water-soluble curcumin compared to placebo shows that the water-soluble curcumin due to its anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effect is more effective and safer compared to placebo in the treatment of chronic joint pain due to rheumatoid arthritis.
Another published clinical study shows how Dot Shot helps the body recover from alcohol consumption. The study shows that the water-soluble curcumin in Dot Shot is absorbed into the body and that it has a liver-protective effect.
Further studies are underway.
