Although things are looking good at the moment, there are still two important international matches left before we know for sure whether Sweden will play the European Championship next summer in Switzerland. And one person who is looking forward to another summer of championships is Hammarby player Jonna Andersson.
– We have a great chance of making it to the European Championship, but these will be two incredibly tough matches, she says.
The opposition will first face France on July 12th away, and on July 16th England will visit Gothenburg and Gamla Ullevi.
– We have faced them several times and I expect two incredibly tough matches. We have to work hard to come first or second in the group and thus qualify directly for the European Championship.
Taking care of your body
31-year-old Jonna Andersson is approaching 100 senior caps for Sweden. Something that has always been important to her, and which has also contributed to a long career, is that she has always been careful and interested in good nutrition and sleep.
– Recovery takes a little longer now than before and I need to be more careful about listening to my body. It's not that I have any special rituals or am so strict that I can't treat myself to something every now and then, she says and continues:
– I don't remember exactly how long I've been using DOT SHOT, but I've been taking it for a while now, almost every day, and I feel good about what I'm getting, even though I'm also careful that the diet I eat contains what I need.
Everyday life in Hammarby
Jonna Andersson's daily life has involved playing for Hammarby since 2022, where she joined after a four-and-a-half-year stint abroad with London team Chelsea. The team enters the international break with two fresh victories against Norrköping and AIK, currently placing Hammarby in third place. However, they are 12 points behind Rosengård, who have so far won 15 games in as many games.
– Defending the gold from last year is a goal that both the club and I have. We have done it once and of course want to continue to be at the top.
When we spoke to club friend Julia Roddar earlier this year, she testified to a wonderful team cohesion – something that Jonna Andersson also agrees with.
– There is a great atmosphere in the team, we are colleagues but also friends who have managed to create a really good culture, she says.
